I’ve been digging through some pics from a few months ago and found this one that I quite like. It’s not something I’d really paid attention to on the first pass.

There’s an adult determination to the child’s mouth, and there needed to be: the dog was a rambunctious puppy. The seriousness in the lips is carried through the arm – her elbow is locked with purpose in preparation for the next yank – ending in a casual but firm grip on the collar. It’s all business but then everything is offset by the doll in her left hand.
